Description

Ugh I still don't like this piece. Does anyone want to teach me how to draw realistic skin and hair, please? Teaching myself isn't going well.

I've got the Jack Frost fever too. I saw the movie yesterday but I've had unfinished artwork for the movie (Super dooper awesome guys loved it!) and I decided to finished it.
I finished editing my book yesterday so my project is really close to completion which is why I was able to finish.

I'm no expert on hair, but here's a good tutorial: [link]

Regarding skin, you did a pretty good job with this, but I think you need more definition in certain parts. The bottom part of his nose is really good, but then it seems to fade into obscurity up by his eyes. The shadows between the eyebrows and the eyes are too even; that area usually has a curved surface, which would be darker near the nose and lighter as you move out from the nose.

In general, if you asked me where the light source was for this picture, I couldn't tell you. Maybe it's jut a general, ambient lighting, but I think a more directional light gives you an opportunity to define more shadows and gives the drawing more depth and realism. Like, if the light came from his left, you could have some strong, dark lines defining his nose and his right eye would be in shadow.

Don't be afraid to use a greater range in value...more darks and lights.
